Question asked by the Beautiful Queen ?? Michelle Thorney ✊? ❤️
Question:
Who has heard the song Wo Wo Wo by Krept & Konan??? And who knows what they are singing about??
Most of my friends do not....
So i am on the bus doing my morning commute to work, it was freezing cold and the bus was packed with people smelling not too fresh which always puzzles me as it’s the first thing in the morning and you have just left your house, but anyway that's another story;
So as i was saying a group of 7 school girls all black no older than 13 get on the bus; all of them have on a full face of makeup, eye lashes, nails, eye brows drawn on perfectly and on fleek as the saying goes lol i was thinking ah weh dem ah go!!!
Anyway one of them takes a speaker out of her bag and starts to play that song "Wo Wo Wo"
Now.........
I have heard the song before but never gave it much attention as i just
think it is another foolish song, But the way these young princesses where singing this song and dancing up themselves on the packed bus made me start to listen to the lyrics.
When i heard the lyric
"Don't get saliva on the chair Wo Wo Wo" and something about
coming prepared with a hair band i was like wow!!!
THEY ARE ACTUALLY SINGING ABOUT SUCKING D@@K
Its 8.30am in the morning, I wonder if they even had breakfast
To hear these princesses singing that song out loud and proud like that
shocked me......They sang and sang and took themselves off the bus before I had the chance to speak to them..
I was literally in shock!
Now i am not saying we didn't have songs like that back in my day
(sounding old now) but i remember having to hide to listen to them and no way would i think about singing songs with sexual innuendos out loud in front of adults let alone in public.
Then I asked myself a rhetorical question.... Why is this acceptable?
How do these record labels get away with this? That TRASH SONG plays regular to on the Radio, even my son knows the Wo Wo Wo part, but on the real....... Why is this ok? Why is this normal? Who do our girls look up to?
The music they listen to tells them they are b**** and hoes and glorifies the woman dressed half naked shaking their booty on a video with men watching.
This digital age has resulted in our young girls being over sexualised and living for likes on Facebook & Insta trying to be the next Niki Manaj, Amber Rose, or Blak Chyna.
Now i am not saying this is all girls but the narrative is strong and it is picking up momentum
We scream and jump when a teenage boy has a knife, a visible blade, but the invisible and emotional scars our young girls is criminal, and then, years later, we blame single mothers for everything that happens, these single mothers didn't just appear from the sky, they have been groomed and sexualised by WO WO WO. flower girl outfits of tulle
