I am so pleased to add to the collection this sensational dark red evening gown from acclaimed British designer label JOHN CHARLES London.

Late 1990s vintage. Timeless, elegant style, featuring a wide cut neckline with bugle bead embellished circular sheer mesh lace panelling, which forms the straps and continues in a deep V to the naval and to the small of the back. The fabric is double layered, weighty and stretchy poly-spandex in rich deep dark red. It hugs the body gently and falls luxuriously to floor length.

John Charles was founded by designer Cherry Price in 1958, concentrating on special occasion wear. Known in the 1970s and 1980s for party and occasion dresses that had a decidedly feminine look. The label continues to be extremely successful today producing high end bridal, occasion and eveningwear, selling in exclusive boutiques worldwide. A superb quality piece as you would expect from this label and in very good used vintage condition. There is a small section of rubbing / bobbling at either side waist length which was likely caused by a bracelet /watch or bag. Only noticeable if you inspect closely.
